2023 Black Bench Cabernet Sauvignon

The vintage year of 2023 was exceptionally cool (in so many respects) in the Central Coast of California, and as a result, allowed the vines an incremental stretch of time to develop uniquely complex flavors and aroma.  The yields from this 50 year old vineyard, planted on exceptionally well-drained gravelly loam were very modest indeed, resulting in superb concentration and great length.  This delightful Cabernet is quite approachable in the short term, but will well repay cellaring. To preserve its truest and most complete expression, this wine has not been filtered.
